Distinguished Professor Craig Pikaard’s appointment as an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) was recently renewed for an additional five years, through March 31, 2029. Professor Pikaard has been an HHMI Investigator since 2011. As an Investigator, Dr. Pikaard is an employee of HHMI and receives support that includes his full salary and benefits, salary support for multiple members of his research team, a generous laboratory operations budget, and access to additional funds for equipment. HHMI also pays a fee to Indiana University for the use of Professor Pikaard’s research space.
