Undergraduate

A modern, molecular foundation for your career

In the fall semester of 2018, we began offering an interdisciplinary degree in Molecular Life Sciences (MLS) jointly with the Department of Biology.

Created with the pre-professional in mind, the MLS degree will prepare you for graduate work, whether you plan to pursue medical school, dental school, or a Ph.D. in the life sciences.

Two tracks to choose from

For the first two years, you’ll focus on a selection of interdisciplinary courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math. In your junior year, you’ll select your preferred track: Molecular and Structural Biology or Cellular and Developmental Biology.

New advanced courses

As part of this new degree, we have designed several new 400-level Molecular Life Sciences courses that provide understanding of important cellular processes in a level of depth not currently offered elsewhere on campus. These courses are open to all eligible students, not just MLS majors.
